Notice of Data Security Incident
The State of Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism – Petit Jean State Park (“Petit Jean State Park”) is notifying potentially affected individuals of a data security incident that may have impacted their credit card information. Petit Jean State Park is an Arkansas state park located in Conway County. Petit Jean State Park may have your information if you made a purchase with your credit card while visiting.
What Happened?
In May 2022, Petit Jean State Park learned that limited credit card information input manually into point-of-sale terminals at its park restaurant may have been accessed by an unauthorized individual. Upon learning of this activity, Petit Jean State Park immediately implemented its incident response protocols, contacted law enforcement, and worked with external computer forensic specialists and other consultants to address the incident and to investigate what occurred. The investigators determined that limited credit card information, specifically credit card numbers, may have been accessed by unauthorized individuals. Unfortunately, the investigation could not determine exactly which numbers may have been affected, only that numbers manually entered into the point-of-sale terminals were the only numbers affected.
What Information Was Involved?
From the review, it appears that the impacted information may have included individuals’ credit card numbers.
