Digging for Diamonds
What should I Wear?
Digging for diamonds can be a year-round adventure, if you prepare ahead! The diamond search area is a large, open field with limited cover. If the sun is shining during your visit, wear a hat and sunscreen. If rain is forecast, bring rubber boots or old shoes you don’t mind getting muddy.
Temperatures can change rapidly at the park. During colder seasons, dress in layers to keep comfortable as the weather warms. Wear long rubber gloves over cloth gloves to keep your hands warm if you plan to wet sift for diamonds in cold weather. On hot days, wear breathable, loose-fitting clothing to stay cool. Contact park staff if you have questions about what to wear during your visit.
